Looting Soho 2020

On the night of Saturday, May 30th, 2020, SoHo was invaded by looters. Hundreds of people highjacked the BLM protests as an excuse to ransack stores all over Manhattan, and Mayor Bill DeBlasio instructed the NYPD to stand down. NYPD’s inability to act resulted in the overnight destruction of nearly every store in SoHo and ever-escalating violence among the looters.
